Walter Hayworth, 97, a former Mellott resident, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1975, at a hospital in Hammond. Mr. Hayworth was reared in the Mellott vicinity and moved away about 50 years ago. He married the former Alena Slusser. Survivors include four sons: Ralph and Lloyd, both of Hammond, Herbert of San Bernardino, Calif., and Wilmer of near Oterbein. Burial at Hammond. --waw
